Progress Report #1

A recap of my work week in terms of fitness/exercise:

Mo
1 hour of non-stop dancing, 20 mins strength training
Tue3 hours dance training
Wed-- break --
Thu40 mins dancing (with a lot of boxing and lunges mixed in), 20 mins strength training
Fr50 mins dancing, jumping and boxing, 20 mins strength training -- mainly abs, butt and back

Today I'm taking a break again. I'm still pretty sore from yesterday's exercise session, which was my most intense yet. Tomorrow I'm planning to do at least another hour of dancing. If everything goes well I'll be able to extend the exercise to six days a week.  It would have been too much to start with, though. I'm pretty exhausted as it is.

As far as weight/body shape goes I lost two pounds this week and 1.6 waistline inches over the last two weeks.

So far as weight loss goes, that's actually right where you should be, so congrats! I'm downright envious. >.> I'm tempted to get the belly-dancing DVD you got, because I distinctly remember loving belly-dancing before and I know it's really good for core-strength/manipulation. <3

Heh, I actually didn't do any belly dancing this week. I just mixed some of the isolations in with my latin training (at least those bits I can do in about one square meter of living room space.) I'll incorporate more of the belly dance bits into my routine as I go along. This week, it felt better to start with some boxing moves because I don't usually do those, so they're very taxing and good for getting my heart rate up.

The bellydance DVD is really good though. It's really worth the price. Just don't be put off by the gothic background music. Personally, I like tribal fusion belly dance more than the traditional kind anyway, so it didn't bother me.

Hrm, you know of anyplace that has any sample music for me to listen to? Or at least, know of something similar for me to listen to so I'll know if I'll like or hate it? =) I know I liked the traditionalish stuff we had in class, but I'm open to new things.
