Dec. 24th, 2007

Been ill for a while -- the monthly blessing of all non-pregnant females decided that a week of torture was not enough, so it stuck around for two months.  In the end it took me ages to get my circulation up and running enough so I could leave the bed in the morning. Not fun. The doctor had no idea where it came from, so I'm glad it decided to get back to normal on its own.

It's okay now though. I'm taking everything a little slower, including work. I've also started exercising again -- really carefully. I tend to get lightheaded pretty quick. I should probably be outside in the fresh air more often, but it's very cold outside. Right now I prefer sitting with a cup of tea in front of the computer to freezing my ass off.

Oh my gosh, Caro. I'm so glad to hear it's better. That must have been a bit scary. (Understatement is fun!) It sounds like you're taking care of yourself, though. Do you eat meat? Iron rich foods are pretty important at the moment, yes?

Be well.

Incidentally, I just signed up for a DeviantArt account just so I could view all of your artwork. It's all so beautiful. But seeing it all made me wonder what you've done with all of your GR art. You haven't chucked it, have you?

Thank you! It was a bit scary. :) I'm taking an iron supplement at the moment since I don't eat a lot of meat. I also eat iron-rich vegetables.

As far as my GR art goes (and some of my later art too), most of it fell prey to computer death. I had three hard drive failures over the last few years, and quite a few cds died on me as well. So far, I haven't found a truly reliably backup solution. All digital media are completely unpredictable.

Oh, harsh! That really, really sucks. :(

It's kind of true that no digital medium is 100 percent reliable. You just have to make sure your stuff exists in at least two places, because it's statistically unlikely for, say, 2 CDs and a hard drive to all fail at the same time. *looks uneasily at hard drive, which is overdue for a backup*

Do you have your comp plugged into a heavy-duty surge suppressor? One with an uninterruptible power supply is even better.

. . . But I seem to recall that you majored in computer somethingorother in uni, so you know all this anyway. I am superfluous! Woe.

I do have a surge suppressor, and I had a triple backup fail on me once, which is why I so totally mistrust any and all media. :(

I majored in computer science. Doesn't help all that much though -- I'm simply more aware of all the things that can go wrong... ^__^

Oh, geez, I feel stupid for not having thought of this before today--I have some of your GR art saved, if you'd like me to send you copies.

Took me a while to remember to check back here... weird, I thought I had "track this" set up. Anyway, the e-mail's away; you should have received it already, I hope!
