[Danyael's Dilemma at DeviantArt]

~ His wings twitched, the slight motion rippling through space-time as he rubbed his forehead with a weary sigh. He barely felt the symbols of his power emerge, tracing their paths down his arm and chest in curling lines that sliced his body open for the wandering dead.

He didn't collect souls. They came to him, drawn like matter to a gravity well. They were his charge -- and his burden, too. But for a while now there had been something lacking, missing pieces in the puzzle of his own tormented soul.

Mere slivers of void they were in the near-infinity of his essence, tiny scraps of nothing where something should be and yet they tore at the very fabric of him, demanding attention. Their silence screamed louder than their voices ever could, asking questions he had no answer to.

Souls didn't just vanish. But these had, and still he failed to find them while their absence ate at him, devouring him from the inside out. ~

Well. I didn't really know what to call him until now, but I finally had a revelation at three in the morning when I was putting the finishing touches on little Danyael here.

You see, I have two original stories and I had discontinued both because of plot problems (and also because I'm a lazy bum). Only now I've decided to put them together and see what happens. One is about angels and human nature and the oxymoron that is free will, the other is about magic and socialism and bananas... A match made in heaven, so to speak.

But I wouldn't be amazed if nobody besides me thinks so. :P

PRETTY! But that's nothing new. Magic, socialism, and bananas all the way! Kidding.

Freaking hell, that's gorgeous. The shape of his forearms and calves is delicious, the shadows of the trees is mysterious and alluring, and the translucence of his wings is just... ethereal. I love the sheen of his skin, and the texture of his hair is so beautifully wrought. Even the arch of his right foot is noteworthy.

And the story just makes it better... I want to read more! Combining the two might be just what each needed.

Good work, sweetie :) Very, very good.

Thanks. :) I'm starting to strive for more depth in my drawings, but since I'm treating art like an addiction, complete with quick, guilty fixes that leave me unsatisfied and craving more it's not working all that well.

I really need to balance work and hobbies and life (currently non-existent) better and realize that I don't need to finish all pics in one sitting, especially not on days where I've been working twelve hours already. Then I might be able to achieve some sort of excellence.

Nevertheless, I'm sort of happy with this one, and actually excited about the story. But I want to finish the Naruto fanfic first -- writing practice, you know. :P

Also, sorry about my very late answer. Forgive me?

At least you're aware of it. Moderation is always a good thing. Good luck with achieving it; let me know if I can help at all.

Forgive me?
