I aten't dead...

Okay, since people were starting to wonder where I am, here's the reason for my absence -- the deadline of my thesis is June 30th. Which is this month, which sort of drives me crazy because it's really not enough days. So most net activity has been put on hold since then. I was wasting precious minutes, you see.

Cinnie, please don't hate me. I've been reading your updates in breaks and I love them. I should have taken the time to say so. I'm sorry.

But, being the procrastinator that I am, and because I got a shiny new Intuos2 tablet for 3d modelling purposes, I misused it to do a two-hour sketch of Kagome and Sesshoumaru near-kising. If you want to see it:

[click here for wet inu youkai goodness].

Should I do another doodle of any kind before the 30th someone please shoot me. And I mean that.

And now I'm back to doing layouts for Greek temples and working on the mathematical notations for the preliminaries chapter. *cries*

Oh. That sketch is wonderful, inspiring and just plain yummy. *happy sigh*

I must write that scene not sure what Sess/Kag fic it will go into.. heck maybe a new one. *grin*

Should I do another doodle of any kind before the 30th someone please shoot me. And I mean that.

*frets* But I really love your work. *grin* But really I understand. The thesis is far more important. good luck=)

Thanks! I'd love to see that scene written out... I'm in the mood for mush, for some reason. :D

Sadly, I gave in and did another Sess/Kag pic. I don't think it turned out all that good because I worked on in it many tiny sessions, but at least it relaxed me.

Doing layouts for Greek temples and working on the mathematical notations for the preliminaries chapter, huh. People are doing so many intelligent-sounding stuff... I feel so... out of it, meh. But anyways: I feel your pain, wish you good luck with your work, and you should already know I friggin worship that 'sketch'.
Jun. 18th, 2004 03:42 am (UTC)
Thanks so much! The 'intelligent sounding stuff' however is such a damn challenge I keep feeling inadequate when I take days to find solutions to small problems. And I'm not nearly as good at the math side of it as I should be. *sigh*

The sketch seems to be my most successful submission so far... I guess it was all the pent-up artistic energy trying to come out. :P

I do love your new Kakuremichi Te pic, by the way... It's incredible. And for someone who doesn't like doing backgrounds, you sure have a gift for it.

Oh my.. that's gorgeous! Makes me want to start watching IY again. ::sets picture as desktop background::

Wow, I'm honoured! For some reason, I always get fanfic-reading urges rather than series-watching urges. I'm strange that way.

Gah! Your icon! What's the rate for the lovely unmasked ninja on the right? Any 2 for 1 specials? XP

Yaaaaaay! You're alive! This makes me happy, happy, happy! But sad, of course, to know that you're battling the thesis demon. Though I bet it will all be worth it when it's over and you can feel free to shoot a copy of your thesis straight into the heart of the sun (which, I am told, is the dream of all thesis writers everywhere).

And that drawing? So. Unbelievably. Pretty. Just... really amazing. The rain and the wet and the HAIR and the LIPS are just... all of it is done so well. I might be forced to put it as the background on my laptop, it's so fucking beautiful. Both of them look really amazing. *wild applause*

Okay! Back to thesis! *cracks whip*
Jun. 18th, 2004 03:45 am (UTC)
Actually, I just think that thesis might be the first really good thing I've done, professionally. At least I hope it turns out that way -- it's really enough work.

Happy you like the pic by the way... I'm aware Sess/Kag annoys a lot of people, but I just heart them. Must be all the repressed hormones, and my own preference for ice princes. :P
Jun. 13th, 2004 09:07 am (UTC)
I forgive you. Because you're wonderful. And I know you're busy. I feel bad about that thesis thingy, wish I could help you with it. I would't berudge myself a few hours to actually have *fun*-- we all need time to relax a little, so if you get the urge to doodle a little, don't be so severe with yourself.

As for *this* doodle-- fucking gorgeous. Have made it my background, and have interrupted writing this post 4 times to go back and stare at it. If I can't be with Sesshoumaru, I like Kagome to be with him. Heh.

You've caught the angle of her head and planes of her throat and jaw really, really well. And his face is amazing-- flawless, beautiful yet masculine. [swooon]
Jun. 18th, 2004 03:50 am (UTC)
Thank you! You're a really, really good friend, but I think I've said that before. :)

I did have a little fun every night -- twenty minutes of relaxing doodling, sadly enough Sess/Kag again. I'm glad I put up a drabble expalining the situation, else people tend to assume they had hot Klingon sex. :P

Also, your background? Squee! And I understand perfectly how you feel about Sesshoumaru. He inspires me, to say the least.

On another note, I'm hearing you're writing Inuyasha/Sango? I adore that pairing! I'd love to read it when it's done (back from the beta). Mindless fanfiction reading in breaks is the only thing keeping me sane, so far. Not that I manage to remember anything about stories I skip over in fifteen minutes...

I'm an idiot.

Jun. 18th, 2004 03:59 am (UTC)
You're in luck, then, I just published chapter 1 of the IY/Sango fic, go look at my writing journal.

houses7177 described the smoochies as "explosive". Heh.

Got more to say, since you intrigued me with hints of more K/S goodness... LOVED Victorious, the fur and hair and skin is wonderful, and the ficlet ROCKED. Loved his little quip about her not being pure for long... hee!

As for In the Rain, I forgot to mention how entranced I am with the rain drops on their skin. Masterful job with that, lovey. Just amazing. There are no words to express how jealous I am of your talent, because I would create VOLUMES of vanity-delighting scenes of my own work. Alas, I think a pig with a marker in one of its nostrils could do better than I at drawing. Dammit.

Have you read ( This Mess We're In )? If not, you must go read it RIGHT NOW. Thesis be damned.
Jun. 18th, 2004 04:27 am (UTC)
Re: Victorious
The ficlet to Victorious is seriously unpolished, though. I wrote it in twenty minutes after finishing the pic because I thought it needed an explanation. :)

Raindrops are good. I think I'm getting the hang of water.

And yes, I did read This Mess We're In and I'm hoping for an update sometime this year. It's one of the best fics I've ever read. The last chapter was heartbreaking for so many reasons, but -- the sex scene. Oh god, the sex scene. And Sesshoumaru is perfectly in character, which is hard to do. Especially with the cold ones, it's really hard to take away the mystery and still keep them compelling and sexy.

Re: Victorious
[droools witlessly]

Yes, the sex scene. Quite possibly the best and most arousing thing I've read in my life. Lost another pair of knickers to that chapter, I did. And the dream-sex between modern!Sesshou and Kagome was a close second for hotness, I thought.

Yes, her Sess character is amazing, cool and haughty and dangerous and yet still perfectly believable when she writes his expression of emotion. I *heart* this story, and am *desperate* for more.
Jun. 13th, 2004 04:37 pm (UTC)
GAH... that is GORGEOUS. So, so, incredibly perfect and beautiful. Really though, don't draw anymore until you're done your thesis. I'm sure someone will come along with the theoretical gun to shoot you if you do end up posting another drawing.

However, after your thesis, go back to drawing and updating. I really had been wondering what happened to you!

::wishing I could take the picture to make an icon::

Jun. 18th, 2004 03:52 am (UTC)
I'm guilty of drawing again, but it was in small doses so it's okay. And if you want to make an icon, feel free. Lots of people don't even ask. :)
Jun. 16th, 2004 06:50 pm (UTC)
That sketch is just...absolutely amazing. Beyond beautiful. I can't even bring up the words to describe, other than saying it's as beautiful as any museum piece that I've seen. Abslutely wonderful job. In particular, I love the water effects on the picture...you can just picture yourself standing under that water fall with them.

In other news...good luck on your thesis! ;-; Those suck enormously.

In not so good news...you may want to yell at these people to credit your work. (I'm not sure how you feel about people posting your artwork for show reasons, but most artists like to be credited, so I thought I'd warn you.)
Jun. 18th, 2004 03:54 am (UTC)
I'm learning about water. It's a nice challenge.

And the thesis is progressing. I might just make the deadline. :)

As to those sucky people who take stuff without asking or crediting, I just don't have the energy to go after them with a mallet. It's the internet. It happens. I guess I'll just ingnore it... *sigh*

New desktop background, it is.

The bedraggled hair--including (Kagome's) vagrant wisps pasted to bare face and neck--and the plump, shiny lips and the water and the light, oh my! This has all been previously articulated (and so much more eloquently, no less than is deserved), but bears repetition. :)

Thanks for sharing your work. I've been following your Inuyasha creations with pleasure (and not a little hope that you'll one day lend your considerable unquantifiable talent to the Cowboy Bebop universe).

Apologies for not commenting on your other work, as yet; I've only just taken up with LJ'ing. Rest assured, however, with regard to anything featuring your fair hand(s) and Sesshoumaru or Miroku: squee!1 And I'm not just saying that as a promiscuous fangirl, either. I'd like to think I have more dignity and better eyes than that would entail. ;)
