Might be because I've been woefully neglecting everyone and everything that had to do with online activity. Well, I'm back. For the weekend at least. So here goes:
- Happy birthday, Cinnie!
- Res, I hope you're reasonably well. I wish I'd had the courage to comment on your recent posts, but as always I had nothing even remotely helpful to say and I was too embarrassed to spout platitudes instead. I hope you can forgive me.
In other news, I'm not obsessed with either the Naruto series or manga anymore, partly because watching Cowboy Bebop has showed me how very wonderful subtlety can be, in both characterization and plot. And how superior. I find I'm irked by the lack of elegance and thorough plotting in Naruto. The series is full of promising characters but they fall flat through lack of development and soap-opera dialogue. Not to mention the preachy bits.
But even if I don't like the series much anymore, I still have a weakness for Kakashi and Genma. So much actually that I insist on paring Genma with an original character -- the ultimate fangirl faux pas in any fandom. To make up for it, I doodled pictures:
Finally, here's an older original picture which is my current favourite:
Death of a sun god (at DA).

Sad to see your Naruto obsession wane - it is rather sad when a lot of potentially awesome characters wander aimlessly in a plotless wasteland. (not bitter)
But love the Santa girl. Love it.

Heh. I'm trying for goth without the actual sentiment behind it -- only the dark clothes and the chains and studs and safety pins and purposely shredded hems and of course the black eyeliner. :P
Thanks so much for birthday wishes!
