Same thing all over again, just uglier.

I never thought a little sketch could be so much trouble... Since I enjoy putting badass high-level ninjas in mushy pictures with their widdle babies I though I might tackle Hayate after I already destroyed Genma's dignity. Since I refuse to admit that Hayate actually died in the series and prefer to imagine him being happily fruitful and multiplying instead, I did another Ninja!Baby drawing.

I put a lot of effort in the preliminary sketch, but it flat-out refused to be coloured at the level of realism I actually wanted. Which is why I ended up with a picture that looks nothing like the one I actually imagined. Which is why I really, really hate it.

For those who want to see the proof that I actually have no drawing talent whatsoever, I present Naruto - Lazy Afternoon.

Oh, get OUT. It's lovely. That baby's face makes me woogie-coo, and I v. rarely woogie-coo over a baby. So there.

You're a sweetie.

And by the way, that review really has no basis in reality whatsoever. I love the pacing of BoB, the characterization, the focus on Faith, everything really. I think it's the best thing you've ever written and I'm rushing to read every time you post a new chapter. So there. :)

Honest reviews are okay -- she said her opinion, but I doubt anyone shares it.

Thanks so much for the validation, I didn't think it was so very awful but I have this problem where I believe in myself before other people... I appreciate your support, you lovely thing :)

Well, you deserve it. It might make you write even faster, too. Yes, I know. I'm greedy. But BoB is just too good, and I'm so craving the eventual relationshippy goodness... Besides, I'm really eager to fisd out where the plot is leading. :)

Will write BoB 10 today, just for you, then!

Waaah! *hugs Cinnie* Love ya!

Hey, I got a project for ya! If you're in a mood to draw guys with their babies, howzabout you do one of the guys from Between the Shadow and the Soul with their kids? Boromir with Mercas, Faramir with Leofa, and Haldir with Ataralasse?

Picture it-- the three of them in a row, holding their babies? Mercas is 3 by this point, so I can see Boromir pointing something out to a curious little boy; Leofa would be 2, so Faramir might be struggling to hold her-- perhaps she's wiggling from his embrace and he's barely got a grip on her tunic-collar. And Ataralasse would only be 1; Haldir would be holding her in his arms, and I can *so* see the pride on his face, even thought she'd have a killer handful of his hair and was stuffing it in her mouth.

Whaddya think? Cute, or what?

It sounds awfully cute, you're right about that. But I can't see myself doing it in the near future (doesn't mean I won't at all, just not now). Because I have a thesis to finish and ninjas are an obsession that consumes me completely right now. Meaning I have a ton of ninja projects I want to draw and I don't even get to devote enough time to those what with work and uni and all. I just don't have the motivation to do something else at the moment...

I hope you're not angry. Please, please don't be. *bats eyelashes*

'Course not. Your ninjas are hot, too. I can wait. Good luck with that thesis!

Oh, so cute! I have a picture of my husband and daughter asleep on the couch in that pose.
Mar. 1st, 2004 11:28 am (UTC)
Heh. I don't even remember how I came up with the pose, but I guess some things are universal. :)

Oh, and if I may ask -- where did you get the pic for your icon? I absolutely *heart* that pic! :D

It's a doujinshi cover:

I'm such a doujinshi freak, I wish I could afford them. I use to buy them up, but not any more. I have a ton of DBZ (which I am so over) and other random series, but no Naruto. ::cries::

Waaaaah, me *wants*! This looks awfully good... *drools* Yes, I'd like to have Naruto doujinshi too, tons of them, but since I'm utterly broke and have been for months there's no chance of getting any. Thankfully I'm looking forward to a time of employment and credit cards... :)

I really wish there was a site that had complete Naruto doujinshi. I know of a few, but sadly they have no Naruto. ::whines:: so unfair!

[looks around] no talent? that's fantastic. He's so exhausted and snuggly. I quite like it.
Mar. 1st, 2004 11:32 am (UTC)
Thanks! Looking at it still makes me quite angry, but it can't be all that bad if you and Cinnie like it. I'm sure you'd tell me if it were crappy (not that I don't already think that). *sigh*

This wasn't supposed to be an 'I claim I can't draw so you can all tell me how wrong I am' posting, but it could be read that way.

But thanks for the comment anyway -- it means a lot. :)

I don't think Genma's dignity was destroyed at all. xD
"Happily fruitful and multiplying"? XD Oh dear gawd, but I do love your word choices.

3 guesses as to who this is, though my icon really does give it away.
Mar. 12th, 2004 06:00 am (UTC)
Thank you Chuwei-chan! I secretly hope Genma is really the marrying kind, because I want to be the one to... you know. I wouldn't even be averse to baby-making and stuff, but I draw the line at the housewifely duty kind of thing . And considering the way he ties his scarf, that's probably quite all right with him. :P

As to my word choices, it's actually my hormones who take care of that. The tiny little buggers like to read. Extensively.
