New pic.

Coloured Sess/Kag pic at DeviantArt: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/16674303/

And she's at it again... *sigh*

From ~Urd-chan: Now, if you did this beutiful of work with Inuyasha and Kagome, I'd be faving the hell out of it. As it is, I really am turned off by the idea of putting Sesshoumaru and Kagome together, but to each their own, right? It's still amazing artwork, and I'd really love to see you do some with the pairings I support...

i won't bother to friends-lock this post. I really don't care who sees it. *is fed up*

.... Who is this chick anyway? I mean, what's the point of pointing out something like that? That has to be one of my biggest pet peeves in art. Who cares about the pairing? Really...

Who cares about the pairing? Really...

I think many people care about pairings (I know I do), but when I draw something the pairing will always be a conscious choice of mine, and it will obviously relect my preferences. And those won't change just because some people don't like them. So comments in this vein are pointless.

I don't exactly know who she is, only that she's rather active in the fandom. *shrug*

Pairings are important to people, aye. I just find it annoying when you draw Pairing A and people come along and trash the picture, which may still be a very nice picture indeed, because it's not Pairing B. Or the ever infamous "It'd be a lot better if it was ...."

Like you said, it's pointless if it's about one thing, and you like another. The picture's already drawn, after all. Pairing preferences are just that, preferences.

I think your art's gorgeous no matter what it is. I don't even KNOW of the IY fandom, and I stare at the art going "Pretty.... *.*"

Well, this is still better than the girl who told me I was 'butchering the characters' and 'wrecking their personalities'... :)
Mar. 31st, 2005 08:11 pm (UTC)
HER interpretation of the character's personalities, you mean. Which very possibly is NOT the single best absolute interpretation at all.

Jeez. Some people need to grow some eyes. XD

From the "care about the pairing" angle, to me it seems silly for someone looking at a fanart to care about the pairing. Not silly for the artist to care, not for a writer, or for a reader, but when it comes to art, if something's pretty, it's pretty no matter who's in it. SessKagome's not something I (usually) read fanfic of, but your S/K art makes me go "<3<3<3!" because it's good art.

And if someone does care (as Urd obviously does), it's so rude of her to keep saying it. It seems so bratty.
Mar. 30th, 2005 12:55 pm (UTC)
I perceived as rudeness too -- which is why I actually answered this time. It just made me so angry (which is rather immature of me). :(

Maybe she wants to see that orgy pic you said you'd draw if somebody says Inuyasha and Kagomea are meant to be together. XD

Ohh - I love the pic, by the way! I mean, really, really, really love.
Mar. 30th, 2005 12:53 pm (UTC)
Heh, I don't think so... If I ever do that pic I'm sure I'll get a bomb in the mail. Or something. :P

And thanks! *hugs*

... I would just like to say that you are almost single-handedly responsible for me getting into the InuYasha fandom. Your pictures caught my eye, I got curious and the next thing I know I'm picking up the first manga-book while I was at work. So yes, I blame you and the author of the fic "By any other name", but that's something else entirely. Thank you.
Mar. 30th, 2005 12:51 pm (UTC)
*is flattered* :)

I think the author's name is Deviant Nature (at least of ff.n). The story is a truly lovely crossover -- I don't know much of Yu Yu Hakusho, but her Sesshoumaru in that fic is to die for.
Mar. 30th, 2005 12:56 pm (UTC)
Heee, you should be! Of course, now I'm going to be subjecting the poor masses to my fanart, so I'm sure they won't appreciate it. But I certainly do!

Yes, it is. ^^ It was actually the YYH portion of the fic that made me read it and from there I was caught. Between the two of you I had no chance. Between her kick-ass Kurama and Sesshoumaru, I was well and truly lost.

and I'd really love to see you do some with the pairings I support...

Wow, there you have it. I've heard everything. Well I guess you better get right on that! XP

Sorry, I had to say it.
Ok, the picture. ::drools:: I'm in love, completely, with your art. The lines and color are stunning. I know nothing about art, just what I think is beautiful and you have just blown me away with these pictures. I don't suppose you do commissioned work? Not that i'd know what to ask for but if it ever came up? Just curious.
Mar. 30th, 2005 12:44 pm (UTC)
Heee. *grins*

I actually do commissions, but I'm notoriously unreliable (minuscule attention span, you know) and I tend to take a long time to finish a picture. :)
Mar. 30th, 2005 12:32 pm (UTC)
First, already stuck it on my favs list, but must say that it is simply LOVELY. I especially love the color scheme you picked; you're experimenting with it, you say? How so? *has terrible color sense*

Second, It's still amazing artwork, and I'd really love to see you do some with the pairings I support...

*sneeeerrrrrrrk* "This would be perfect if I weren't so fanatically obsessed."
Mar. 30th, 2005 12:42 pm (UTC)
Thank you! *glomps* The color scheme is an experiment partly because I've never worked with such 'sunny' colors before, and partly because I was going for a looser feel, almost like watercolors but not quite. The only problem is that I colored the pic on my laptop, where the hues looked vastly different from my screen at home. The contrast was higher, and the colors were more reddish and not quite so pale.

I'm sure your color sense is not terrible (I rest my case), but it takes an incredible amount of practice to get a color scheme exactly right. I'm still learning quite a bit, and I'm still hopeless when it comes to choosing the right values.
Mar. 30th, 2005 07:07 pm (UTC)
Hey, there are some pairings that I hate with a vengeance, but I don't go around telling people "they're wrong and blah blah blah, this is how it should be". You pretty much stated to people to not bother you about it right? Well, it's fun to ignore.

I myself, am not a big fan of Sess/Kago but your art kicks so much ass that I don't even care.
Mar. 30th, 2005 08:55 pm (UTC)
You were ever so much more polite than I'd have been. [fangirls your diplomacy]
Mar. 31st, 2005 02:27 pm (UTC)
People like that make me mad! *stomps* I mean look at it! Look at it! It's beautiful. It's so very pretty

and it's, well how shall I put it; it's *hot* and it feels so.. complete
I'm getting all mushy inside too ;_;
Mar. 31st, 2005 06:55 pm (UTC)
Eh. *waves hand dismissively* Just take it as a compliment as to how awesome your artwork is. She's looking at it even though she hates the pairing, and she wants you to do more.

All it means is that you're just really kick ass. *nod, nod*
Mar. 31st, 2005 06:57 pm (UTC)
Forgot to say how lovely I think it is. I love how the setup of the picture, how the colors all blend together, and how the image is de-centered. It's got a wonderful watercolor look to it, almost like a dream fading in and out of existence. Wonderful stuff, chica.

So passive agressive. And annoying. Tell her that because of her comments you will now NEVER draw K/I :p
