I just stumbled across this at Single Spark: The Cold by Youkai Kagome. The whole chapter is lifted straight from a book I've read a few years ago: Ravished, by Amanda Quick. (Yes. I'm suitably ashamed. Moving on now.)

Anyway. This cued me in, because it was so familiar:

" My lovely, Kagome," he said in awed wonder. " Where have you been all these years?"

" Collecting jewel shards" she said very seriously.

The heroine from the actual book is a collector of fossils -- at least the 'author' took the pains to adjust all such references to fit the Inuyasha setting. It's the only thing that fits, too. The whole scene is so very purple it's funny, and Sesshoumaru's dialogue is Regency dirty talk at its best. Heh.

However, it seems this author can't even manage to make sense when she's merely copying her chapters from somewhere else. An example? " Put your waste around me Kagome.... Hold on tight" he said in a strangled voice. Never knew the sex was quite this dirty in Regency Eingland the Sengoku Jidai.

And at the very end of the chapter, she does the begging thing. You see, she wants reviews. And why not? All that typing must have been hard work.

Nope. Couldn't come up with something suitably mean. *sigh*

*I* left a message-- told her I hadn't liked it when Amanda Quick wrote it and she hadn't improved it any-- just the opposite, that her typos made it even worse. Then said she should be ashamed of herself, and that she gives fanfiction a bad name.

Gave my email address, too, so we'll see if she replies. I also rated her "1" for everything, only because there was no "0" choice. Hmph.

Heee. Thank joooooo. *huggles*

Am now off to my parents' for the rest of the weekend to take care of the cats. With no internet, alas. I'll be back on Monday if withdrawal doesn't kill me.

I reported abuse, just in case no one else did so already, because she obviously thoroughly abused the original author's work. I got stuck at the 2nd grammatical/spell error in the first small chunk and couldn't go any further.

Sadly, the wonders of the internet are almost always canceled out by massive amounts of stupidity waiting to be discovered (and most of the time, they don't even wait.)

It's as this Taiwanese celebrity said: "In most cases, stupid people are actually more terrifying than evil people."
