At the movies.

Just finished watching Team America: World Police. The humour is mostly crude and South Park-ish, which I usually don't enjoy all that much, but I laughed my ass off anyway. I think that's because underneath the toilet humour the film is actually nicely satirical. And despite the fact that it leaves no action movie cliché untouched, the dialogue was still better (and better acted) than in that horrible heap of steaming dung called Revenge of the Sith. And the reason, put in the immortal words of Harrison Ford: "You can write this stilted shit, George, but you can't say it."

Word, Harrison.

Yes, I'm only a little bitter. Anyway, back to the other movie... I guess the humour is still largely a matter of taste, but if there is something about this film I liked without reservations, it's the soundtrack. My favourite is 'I'm so Ronery', brilliantly performed by Kim Jong Il, but the other songs were nice too. :)

So, finally I got to see a movie that wasn't a complete waste of time. *dances* I'd write more, but there's more brainless action on tv right now in the form of a Dragonball Z marathon, and I'm off to watch that. I always get so nostalgic when I do. *happy sigh*

*Gasp* Making fun of Revenge of the Sith! No!!!!

(Actually, yes. The acting did suck so bad. But at least it was a little better than Attack of the Clones)

I want to see Team America and you made it sound ok so now I'm going to. Are you working on that layout of yours? :D

But at least it was a little better than Attack of the Clones

Can't say I noticed the difference. *cries*

And no, I haven't worked on the layout one bit yet. But I've been writing, so it's all good. *wibbles*

Honestly, I don't think I (or anyone else in the theater, for that matter) stopped laughing for more than 5 seconds in Team America. Parker and Stone are absolutely shameless, but it works. And they somehow write the most ridiculous, catchy, satirical songs I've ever heard. I nearly cried with laughter during the "America, FUCK YEAH!" sequence. Pure gold, baby. ;)

That's good to hear! I thought something was wrong with my sense of humour. :D And yes, the "America, FUCK YEAH!" song is priceless too, but I really loved the slow version of it just before the air fight sequence.

Haha that movie rocked; I'll never look at puppets the same way again. My favorite song was the Pearl Harbor song and the part where it says something like "Would you stand and fight for freedom? Or would you run away like a little pussy.." :Wipes tear:

Matt. Damon!

Yep, the Pearl Harbor song was really funny. And evil. And funny. Did you notice the "You are useless, Arec Bardwin" song towards the end of the credits? I luurved that. ♥
