Hi there.

I've been away from this journal for a long time, partly because I wanted to reduce my internet time, and partly because real life didn't stop being busy. It's been busy in a good way though, so who am I to complain?

Over the last few months, L. and I have been busy looking for a new place since the barely 50 qm of our old flat were getting a little cramped. It's been okay while we were still students, but we both work now, and we wanted something a bit more spacious. In October we got lucky and found an apartment close to the university at a bargain price. The negotiations (and talks with the bank plus getting the paperwork ready and making sure the flat wasn't being inhabited by goblins after all) went on for ages, but I am happy to report that since March 1st, we can call ourselves home-owners. Well, once we've paid off the mortgage that is.

A new apartment means doing a lot of renovating work. The building is from the 70s and still pretty sound, but I wanted to see the walls for myself, so we tore down the (ugly) old wallpaper. The walls are in good shape, or at least that's how it looks to me, and my engineer dad concurs. In fact, I'm pretty lucky to have my parents, who are infinitely more experienced at this stuff than I am. In Romania, my dad used to do the repairs to our flat after each earthquake. Luckily, there are no earthquakes in Northern Germany and the flat is high enough up not to be affected by a flood. Good times.

L. and I insist on doing most of the repairs though. After all, we need to know how it works.

Interestingly, the prospect of actually owning the place I live in has sort of transformed me into someone who actually cares about interior decorating and order and all that other bothersome stuff. I am now a regular on this blog as well as this and I might have been spotted more than once browsing through this. Embarrassing, I know.

I also know every collection of every serious wallpaper manufacturer in Europe, and after two months of browsing have ordered samples from England (because German wallpapers are mostly ugly), only to finally decide on white walls. I will put in some fake (and barely noticeable) crown molding though. Also mediteranean tiles in the hallway and oak flooring everywhere else.

With all this and work and dancing I haven't had a lot of time for other stuff. I haven't done any drawing in months (except for a bit of involuntary doodling here and there) and it's already two months ago that I've written anything. I've been too tired to miss it, but I expect I will eventually. And I also expect I'll do something about it once we've moved and settled in.

Wow! Congratulations. That's great. :)

Will you post pictures at some point? I want to admire your handiwork.

By the way, did the pictures arrive okay?

I'll definitely post pictures! Right now everything's still incredibly messy, but once we've moved in and I've had the time to decorate a little things will look different. :)

The pics did arrive okay, thank you so much!

I recently went there to browse and found a picture of yours. I did review it and asked them to remove it mentioning your name as the orig artist. Hopefully she does, but here is the link in case you want to see it.

Just wanted to let you know.

Thank you, that was very nice of you. My stuff gets stolen every now and again, I've learned not to get angry about it. :)

Re: Hi
I am not working on it at the moment, so it definitely won't be updated soon. I might resume work on it at some point in the future, though. I would still like to complete it eventually.
